Microsoft 365 migration and IT fleet management for an industrial company

The Moroccan subsidiary of an industrial group, based near Casablanca, entrusted SADIS with a complete takeover of its site's IT environment. The scope: Microsoft 365 email, directory synchronisation with Entra Connect, network and Wi-Fi, workstation fleet, NAS storage, monitoring, access security and user training.

Before founding SADIS in Morocco, its founders spent six years on freelance engagements within large French industrial groups, this client's parent group among them. The group therefore entrusted its Moroccan site to a team it already knew.

Scope of the engagement

A single provider handled everything. Nobody passes the buck at the first incident.

Microsoft 365 and a unified directory

Migrating to Microsoft 365 is not just about switching mailboxes. The real difficulty is the directory. Without synchronisation, each user ends up with two usernames and two passwords.

For this client, Entra Connect synchronises the on-premises directory with Microsoft 365. An account created, modified or disabled is changed everywhere at once. A departure is handled in a single operation, email included: it is as much a matter of security as of convenience.

A migration is prepared: inventory of mailboxes and usage, data transfer, an organised cutover, then support during the first days. Email is used from morning to night; it is not migrated on the fly.

Network and Wi-Fi rebuilt

A network ages through successive additions: a switch installed in a hurry, a badly placed Wi-Fi access point, cables nobody dares unplug. It works "more or less", until the outage that brings the whole site to a halt.

The overhaul carried out for this client started from the ground up: wired architecture, Wi-Fi coverage suited to the actual premises, equipment configured and documented. Online email, shared storage and monitoring all rely on this network.

Workstations, storage and monitoring

Workstations are configured consistently, joined to the directory and equipped with the software each person needs. A consistent fleet is quick to troubleshoot; a fleet where every workstation is a special case turns every incident into an investigation.

The NAS centralises the company's files, which no longer depend on individual workstations or USB sticks. Local backups become systematic.

Monitoring detects a disk filling up or a silent device before users suffer from it. Failures are anticipated instead of endured.

Training and handing over

The engagement ended with user training: email, shared files, good access practices. The client must remain in control of its system, a principle detailed on the B2B ordering platform page in relation to code ownership. For an infrastructure, this means access held by the company, documented configurations and an internal team able to understand what has been installed on its premises.

Software and infrastructure

SADIS develops business platforms, such as the B2B ordering platform of an automotive spare parts distributor. The Microsoft 365 migration engagement covers the other side: infrastructure, network and fleet management. You no longer have to coordinate a developer, a network installer and office IT support.

For an SME or an industrial site in Casablanca and across the Casablanca-Settat region, this scenario can be replicated: online email, a unified directory, a network brought back into shape, workstations deployed and teams trained. The scope is defined from the existing setup, during an on-site assessment.
