Websites and web applications
Build, take over or evolve a website that works for your business.
Many company websites were put online, then forgotten. They present the business, sometimes a catalogue, rarely more.
Yet a website is a working tool, just like sales management software. It must serve the business, stay in your hands and evolve without starting over. It is a concrete lever for the digital transformation of SMEs, in the context of the national strategy "Digital Morocco 2030".
SADIS, a Moroccan company based in Laâyoune with an office in Casablanca, develops showcase websites, online shops and business platforms. It also takes over existing sites to stabilise them and make them evolve.
What your website must do
- Be found. A prospect searching for your trade in your city must land on pages that answer their question.
- Inspire trust. Accurate contact details, company identity, verifiable projects: a business buyer checks before calling.
- Save time. Structured quote requests, a browsable catalogue, downloadable documents: every question handled online is one call fewer.
- Sell or take orders, while staying consistent with your actual stock and prices.
- Stay manageable. Your teams edit a text, a product or a news item without waiting for a developer.
Showcase website or web application
A showcase website presents; a web application gets work done. As soon as users log in to carry out a task with their own data, it is an application.
Customer portal, reseller area, case tracking, appointment booking, multi-site internal tool: these needs go beyond a content management system. The digitalisation of an internal process often goes this way. These applications almost always require an exchange with existing software. The approach is that of custom management software: start from the way you work and connect rather than duplicate.
E-commerce and B2B area
A consumer shop highlights the product, payment and delivery. A B2B business area first respects negotiated terms: prices per customer, authorised credit, restricted catalogue, recurring orders, viewable invoices.
An example in production: the B2B ordering platform of an automotive spare parts distributor in Casablanca. Garages and resellers search for a part by part number or chassis number, order and track their orders. The platform is connected to the sales management software. A reference contact can be arranged at a meeting, with the client's consent.
Taking over an existing website
Your provider no longer responds, or the employee who built the site has left. The site runs, but nobody dares touch it and updates are no longer done. Changing provider without losing everything is possible, in this order:
- Check who holds the rights. Law No. 2-00 on copyright protects computer programs. Without a written assignment, the code may belong to the original provider. Clarify this point with a lawyer if necessary; SADIS does not give legal advice, but helps you gather the documents.
- Recover what belongs to you: access, source code, database, domain name.
- Audit the code and data. Versions, obsolete plugins, modifications to the system core, known vulnerabilities, causes of slowdowns.
- Stabilise before rebuilding. Verified backups, security updates, fixes for what hinders operation.
- Document. Architecture, access, update and restore procedures, so that the situation does not happen again.
We only propose a rebuild if the audit justifies it. Often, the site is cleaned up step by step, without losing business or the search rankings already gained.
Access, code and domain name
- The domain name. It must be registered in the company's name, on an account it holds. Without it, the site and often the email do not really belong to you.
- Hosting. Access to the account, the server or the control panel, and the identity of whoever pays.
- The source code and database, complete and up to date, including modified themes and plugins.
- Associated accounts: administration, audience measurement, Google Search Console, email sending, online payment.
If the former provider can be reached, a written request is often enough. Otherwise, the assessment shows what can be reconstructed with the host or the registrar.
Technologies used
The choice follows the need. We favour widespread standards, so that another provider can also take over the site one day.
- WordPress and WooCommerce for content sites and shops with standard needs. Difficulties mostly come from plugins that were never updated.
- PrestaShop for large catalogues, and Shopify, a hosted solution, where a takeover concerns the accounts, the theme and the data.
- Vue.js and React for fast interfaces: customer areas, rich forms, dashboards.
- Node.js, .NET, PHP and Laravel on the server side, for business rules, permissions and exchanges with other software.
- Directus when your teams manage content or structured data themselves.
A website reaches its full value once connected. We develop connectors and APIs between the ERP, the e-commerce site and third-party tools: catalogue, stock, prices and orders flow without re-entry. See the Sage and Odoo pages.
Performance and search engine optimisation
A slow site loses its visitors, especially on mobile. Performance is worked on at the source: properly sized hosting, compressed images, unnecessary scripts removed, well-tuned caching.
Search engine optimisation (SEO) is built in from the start: fast pages, clear structure, correct markup, stable URLs and useful content. During a redesign, we list the pages and their traffic, keep the useful URLs, redirect the others and monitor indexing.
Everything stays in your name
The contract assigns to you the rights to the developments made for you. Domain name, hosting and technical accounts are opened in the company's name. The code is versioned and delivered, the data exportable, the documentation up to date. The site's security receives the same care as the rest of the system, described on the cybersecurity page.
Before founding SADIS in Morocco, its founders spent six years on freelance assignments within large French industrial groups. If the code, access and data belong to you, you remain free in every case.
Frequently asked questions
Our web provider no longer responds: what should we do first?
Check in whose name the domain name and hosting are registered, then reread the contract to find out who holds the rights to the code. Next come recovering the code, backing up and the audit.
Can we change provider without rebuilding the site?
Yes, in most cases. A WordPress, WooCommerce, PrestaShop or Laravel site can be taken over and improved step by step; a rebuild only happens if the audit justifies it.
Does a redesign lose search rankings?
Not if it is done properly. Preserved URLs, redirects in place and monitored indexing greatly reduce the risk.
Do we need a custom web application or a WordPress site?
To present the company and publish content, WordPress is enough. If users log in to place orders or track a case, a custom application connected to your software becomes relevant.
Who owns the site and domain name built by SADIS?
The client. Domain and hosting are opened in the client's name, and the contract assigns the rights to the client, along with the source code, data and documentation.
