Odoo Deployment

Odoo appeals to many Moroccan SMEs: a single tool for sales, purchasing, inventory, accounting and manufacturing, accessible from a browser. But success depends less on the software than on its scoping, its configuration and its adoption by teams.

SADIS, a Moroccan company based in Laâyoune with an office in Casablanca, deploys, configures, migrates and connects Odoo.

When Odoo fits

Odoo is a modular ERP: the activated applications share the same database. An order reserves stock, triggers delivery, produces the invoice and feeds accounting, with no re-entry.

• Odoo fits if you want to cover several functions in one tool, align part of your practices with the standard and grow module by module.
• Odoo fits less well if your accounting and payroll are already well handled elsewhere, if the need is limited to a very specific function, or if no one in-house can lead the project.

In these cases, other paths exist: complementing Sage, or developing custom management software.

Community or Enterprise

• Odoo Community is open source, with no subscription. It can be installed on the server of your choice, but some applications are not included.
• Odoo Enterprise is offered by Odoo on a subscription basis. It adds applications, Odoo hosting and version migration tools. Pricing and terms should be checked directly with Odoo.

The choice is made after the assessment, based on the expected functions, the number of users and the desired hosting.

Scoping and assessment

An Odoo project starts with the way you work, not with a demo. We examine:

• The real processes: from quote to payment, from purchase request to receipt, including the exceptions never written down.
• The tools in place: Excel files, old software, accounting, business tools.
• External exchanges: accounting firm, bank, ordering platform, field app.

Scoping results in a written scope: modules, edition, data to migrate, connections and deferred steps.

Configure before developing

Warehouses, replenishment, price lists, taxes, chart of accounts, sequences, access rights, approval workflows: Odoo is highly configurable. Much of what seems specific finds its answer there.

Each need is first compared with the standard. If the gap is minor, we consider with you whether it is better to adapt the practice. Only what has real value justifies development.

Accounting and tax settings are configured with your chartered accountant. Coverage of the Moroccan localization depends on the edition and version: it is checked and completed if necessary.

Migration and cutover

Migrating to Odoo from Excel or old software is often underestimated. It follows five steps:

1. Inventory: customers, suppliers, items, prices, stock, balances, useful history.
2. Cleanup: duplicates, obsolete items, inconsistent codes, customers without an identifier.
3. Trial imports into a test database, checked by your teams.
4. Rehearsal of the full sequence before the actual day.
5. Cutover: stock and balances migrated as of a set date, old tool shut down, start on Odoo.

The date is chosen with you to limit business disruption. We provide support in the following days, on site or remotely.

A major version migration follows the same logic: data is transformed, each custom module is reviewed. The further the installation strays from the standard, the heavier this work.

If you already use Odoo or other software, it can be kept, put back in order, then connected to the new tools.

Custom development

When configuration is not enough, we add custom modules: price calculation, approval workflow, additional screen or document. They remain separate from Odoo's original code.

Each module is documented, its source code is handed over to you, its scope is set during scoping. If the need strays too far from Odoo's logic, a connected business application is better than a forced ERP.

API connectors

We develop custom connectors and REST APIs between Odoo and your other tools. Each exchange is defined in writing: the information, its direction, its timing and the software that is authoritative.

• A B2B ordering platform: catalog, prices and stock come from Odoo, orders flow back into it. See the B2B ordering platform page.
• A mobile or web application for sales reps, technicians or storekeepers.
• Retained software, for example an accounting package, linked through a bridge that avoids double entry.

On the data side, we work on Odoo's PostgreSQL databases and on the SQL Server databases of connected software.

Purchasing digitalization

Purchase requests, supplier orders, receipts and invoice matching go through the ERP, with approval thresholds. Process structuring and buyer training are described on the quality, ISO 9001 and training page.

DGI electronic invoicing

Electronic invoicing in Morocco is being rolled out gradually by the DGI. Follow the official texts: we commit to no date. An Odoo deployment started today prepares for it: customer ICE filled in, taxes properly configured, a controlled invoice and credit note cycle, possible exchanges with an external platform.

Role-based training

A poorly adopted ERP is abandoned in favor of the old files. Everyone trains on their own cases, in a test database, before cutover. The sales rep tracks quotes in the CRM, the storekeeper receives goods, the buyer manages requests for quotation, the accountant reconciles and closes.

SADIS is neither an official partner nor a reseller of Odoo, at any level of Odoo's partnership program, and is not Odoo-certified. If you choose Enterprise, the subscription is taken out directly with Odoo, in your name.

Frequently asked questions

Is SADIS an official Odoo partner?

No. SADIS is neither an official partner, nor certified, nor a reseller of Odoo; the Enterprise subscription, if you choose it, is taken out directly with Odoo.

Should we choose Odoo Community or Odoo Enterprise?

It depends on the modules, the hosting and the planned development. Community is open source with no subscription; Enterprise adds features under a subscription.

Can we migrate to Odoo from Excel or old software?

Yes. Data is cleaned, imported into a test database and checked by your teams. The cutover is rehearsed before the actual day.

Will our custom developments survive a version migration?

They must be reviewed at each major version. That is why they are kept limited, separate from the original code and documented.

Can Odoo be connected to our ordering platform?

Yes. An API connector moves catalog, prices, stock, customers and orders, with a single tool that is authoritative for each piece of information.
