Mobile Apps
Business apps for field work, connected to your information system.
The sales rep dictates orders over the phone. The technician notes the service call in a notebook. The reseller asks on WhatsApp whether an item is available. The information exists, but it is re-entered, delayed or lost.
A business mobile app gives field teams a simple tool that works even without network coverage and sends information where it needs to go.
SADIS, a Moroccan company based in Laâyoune and Casablanca, develops iOS and Android apps, as well as custom management software and business applications.
Mobile or web: making the right choice
An app installed from the App Store or Google Play is justified in three cases:
- Work happens without a reliable connection: warehouses, construction sites, rural areas, basements, roads.
- The tool uses the phone: proof-of-delivery photo, barcodes, geolocation, signature, notifications.
- The tool is used all day and must open instantly.
Otherwise, a web app, possibly installable on the home screen (PWA), is often enough. It avoids the stores, updates for everyone at once and costs less to maintain. Its limits: extended offline use, some phone features and notifications on iPhone. In that case, SADIS will point you to websites and web applications.
Business use cases
- Field order taking. The sales rep checks the catalog and the customer's terms, then sends the order to sales management.
- Technical service calls. Today's jobs, equipment history, report, photos, parts used, customer signature.
- Reseller catalog. Resellers and garages check items, availability and prices, and order from their phone. A B2B ordering platform can thus have its mobile counterpart, on the same data.
- Delivery and inventory. Photo of the signed delivery note, barcode scanning, on-site readings.
Offline by design
An app that stops working as soon as the network weakens is quickly abandoned in favor of the notebook. Offline mode is therefore designed from the start: embedded data, saved entries, synchronization when the network returns.
- Conflicts. A price changed during the round, two people edited the same record: the rules are written down and validated with your teams.
- Visibility. The app clearly shows what has been sent and what is still waiting for the network.
Connected to your ERP
An isolated app merely moves double entry elsewhere. Items, prices, stock and customers come from the ERP; orders, service calls and deliveries go back to it without re-entry.
The app does not touch the ERP database directly. It goes through a gateway that checks permissions, filters data and protects the core software.
SADIS deploys, configures and integrates Sage, Odoo and other ERPs. SADIS is neither an official partner nor a reseller of Sage or Odoo. See the Sage and Odoo pages.
Phones get lost or stolen. Authentication, limited permissions, protected local data and remote account deactivation are part of the project.
One codebase, iOS and Android
Your teams almost always mix iPhone and Android. SADIS develops with Capacitor, combined with Vue.js or React: a single codebase produces both apps.
Screens, rules and fixes are shared, and maintenance is simplified. The app accesses the camera, geolocation, local storage and notifications. The same codebase can also power a web app.
Tablets for sales reps
The tablet is often the right format at the customer's site. The sales rep presents the catalog, checks stock and customer-specific prices, then enters the order during the visit.
At the office, the order arrives without re-entry. Stock, prices and orders stay aligned with the ERP, even after a period offline.
App store publishing
Apple and Google review each app before it goes live: content, privacy, data collected. An internal app can also be distributed on a restricted basis.
Developer accounts are opened in your company's name, never the provider's. You keep control of releases and can change provider without republishing. SADIS supports you and prepares store listings, screenshots and privacy information.
Maintenance and code ownership
Apple and Google change their systems and requirements every year. An app that is not updated eventually malfunctions, then gets removed from the stores. Maintenance is planned from the start.
- The source code and documentation belong to you, with assignment of rights to the developments.
- Store accounts, gateway hosting and technical access are in your name.
- The technologies are widespread standards that another provider can take over.
SADIS is a young company: ownership of the code and accounts is therefore guaranteed by contract, not by a promise.
How a project runs
- Assessment with your teams in the field, network included. The choice between mobile and web is settled here.
- Scoping: screens, embedded data, offline rules, exchanges with the ERP, security, distribution.
- Clickable prototype, tested by a few users on a real phone.
- Step-by-step development, starting with the most useful use case.
- Publishing and rollout, with installation on devices and user training.
- Maintenance and upgrades: iOS and Android updates, fixes, new features.
Frequently asked questions
Do we need a mobile app, or is a web app enough?
For occasional use with a good connection, a web app is often enough. A mobile app is justified for intensive use, offline use or use of the phone's features.
Can the app work without network coverage?
Yes, if it is designed for this from the start. Entries are saved and then synchronized, with written rules for conflicts.
Can the app connect to Sage or Odoo?
Yes, through a gateway that controls access and avoids any re-entry. SADIS is neither an official partner nor a reseller of Sage or Odoo.
Do we need two apps for iPhone and Android?
No. With Capacitor, a single codebase produces both apps, with shared maintenance.
Who owns the app and the store accounts?
You do. The source code is assigned to you and the developer accounts are opened in your company's name.
